Mrs. Sarah Ann Newhouse Long, widow of Wilson Long was found dead in her bed this morning at the home of her daguther, Mrs. George Enoch, 5 miles northeast of this city where she had lived since the death of her husband in 1889. She was born in Butler County, Ohio May 19, 1821 and would have been 86 years old had she lived until next Sunday. She leaves two besides Mrs. Enoch. they are Otho Long of Darlington and WH Long of Frankfort. She married in 1843 when 22 years old. She was a good Christian woman and member of the Primitive Baptist Church. Her death was due to old age. Primarily the cause was paralysis and a blood clot on the brain. The funeral will occur at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Enoch Friday morning at 11 o'clock and will be conducted by Rev. JH Oliphant. Interment at Hutton cemetery three miles northeast of the city. - kbz

Mrs. Sarah A. Newhouse Long, widow of the late Wilson Long passed away May 16, 1907 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. GA Enoch, 4 miles northeast of the city, where she had made her home the most of the time since her husband's death in the fall of '89. She was born May 19, 1821, in Butler County Ohio and with her paernts moved to this state when she was 14. She was united in marriage to Wilson Long in 1843 and started to keeping house on what is known as the Gilmore Hutton farm two miles east of Crawfordsville on the Darlington Rd. In 1853 they bought a piece of land northwest of Darlington built a small house on it and moved to the place, cleared the ground and were soon able to add more thereto, and by hard work and economy saved enough with which to build them another home - in which they lived happily and comfortably until death claimed the husband and father. Four children blessed this union -Otis Long of Darlington; William Long of Frankfort, Courley N. Long who passed from this life June 21, 1880 and Mrs. GA Enoch of Crawfordsville. The mother was a good Christian woman. She joined the Primitive Baptist Church in 1894, and has done her duty well and loved the church. She was a loving wife, an indulgent, dear sweet mother. Her counsel and dear, sweet songs will be remembered by her friends and children. Besides her children she leaves six grandchildren and one great granddaughter, 7 grandchildren having preceded to the better world, also a sister, Mrs. Hannah Miller of Clinton, Ind and half brother, Samuel Taylor of Clinton. She leaves many sincered relatives and friends to mourn. A large number of friends assembled at the home of her son-in-law, George Enoch, at 11 o'clock Saturay to pay their respects to one they had long known and loved. She was laid to rest beside her husband in the Lee Cemetery, northeast of Crawfordsville. Mother, had been in usual health had eaten a hearty supper and retired, never to awaken in this world. When the little grandson, Byrl Enoch went to call her to breakfast he found her asleep, so silent and sweet, never to answer again to the call of the little one she loved so well.
